Kisan Samman: Farmers from Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Honored in Bhopal

Kisan Samman: On February 28, 2025, Delhi Press’s agricultural magazine Farm n Food organized the state-level Farm n Food Kisan Samman Awards at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Over 150 farmers and agricultural scientists from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh participated in the event, and approximately 30 farmers, agricultural scientists, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) who brought transformative changes in farming through innovation and technology were honored with the Farm n Food Kisan Samman Award across 17 different categories.

Anant Nath, Executive Publisher of Delhi Press, said, “Agriculture is the backbone of our country. To highlight the contributions of farmers in this field, we envisioned starting the Farm n Food magazine and believe it serves as a bridge connecting the farming community. I consider myself a student of agriculture. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I set up a kitchen garden at home, which still thrives today. Today’s winners are hardworking and have achieved remarkable success in this field. I urge farmers to stay connected with this magazine so that our organization can disseminate every development in agriculture to the masses.”*

Chief Guest Vishwas Sarang, Minister of Cooperation, Sports, and Youth Welfare, Madhya Pradesh, said, “India resides in its villages, fields, and barns. We must focus on farming and farmers. Emphasis must be placed on food processing, and initiatives like the ‘Nadi Jodo Abhiyan’ (River Linking Project) will aid in this. The foundation of a strong nation is laid in the fields. The government’s objective is to make farming a profitable venture.”

Special Guest Gautam Tetwal, Minister of Skill Development and Employment, Madhya Pradesh, said, “There is no age limit for learning, and a farmer is always learning. They innovate and adopt new technologies. When farmers have access to organic fertilizers and other facilities, they will progress further in this field.”
